March Madness returns to Long Lake, MN. The inaugural “JUNKMARKET Under Glass” March Madness held in early March, 2011 was met with huge attendance and rave reviews. Due to the success of the event JUNKMARKET Style (JMS) presents the second annual JUNKMARKET Under Glass, March 1 through 3, 2012. Hours of operation: Thursday, Early Bird Shopping, 8AM to 10AM, admission $20 and good for all 3 days. Regular shopping hours: Thursday from 10AM to 6PM and Friday and Saturday from 10AM to 5PM. Regular admission is $5. JMUG, boasts 50 hand selected vintage vendor and style maker spaces. Sue Whitney (Sue) and Lanette Lorsung of JMS fame believe in quality over quantity and demand nothing less than the very best from their dealers, and they get it! A blend of the best vintage dealers is what show goers will find. Furniture and accessory dealers, designers, jewelers, crafters, and artisans combine to make this show the one and only in its genre.

The event is to be held in the Otten Bros. 15,000 square foot heated greenhouse in Long Lake, MN. Garden centers are seasonal businesses. We decided that this year we’d get a jump on the spring season. During the winter, our beautiful 15,000 square foot greenhouse lies dormant. What a waste! So we have decided to combine Otten Bros. gift for gardening with Sue’s talent for stylish recycled garden décor. Voila! Otten Bros. and JMS announce the inaugural, “Flea Market Under Glass”.
Top notch flea market vendors, landscape experts, birding authorities, and plant professionals will all be on board making this the full meal deal spring event of the year.
Otten Bros. will showcase outdoor product that’s piping hot for spring 2011 along with pansies, to-die-for succulents and other plants to whet your spring whistle. Fairy gardens & terrariums are as popular as ever so expect to see the latest in those trends.
JMS and a carefully selected group of flea market vendors will converge for the occasion. There will be uncommonly good treasures in this not so garden variety selection of junk. There will be plenty of vintage finds for your garden, outdoor living spaces, and indoor home décor. There will also be handcrafted items just or you!
The careful combinations of old and new will provide inspiration to all who attend. It’s all in the mix! Sue along with Otten Bros. professionals will be there and happy to provide valuable tips and tricks of the trade. We’ll be heating up the greenhouse so that all who attend can break out their shorts and flip flops and feel like spring really has sprung!

The unveiling began in November with a very well attended and received event, “JUNKMARKET, Home for the Holidays”. JUNKMARKET Style’s, Sue Whitney presented the art of decorating your home for the holidays in an easy, approachable, affordable, and elegant manner. Tree trimming, wreath ornamentation, gift wrapping, and holiday tabletop ideas await you throughout the holiday season at Otten Bros Garden Center and Landscaping.
Wait there’s more! Sue Whitney, founder and editor of JUNKMARKET Style, (junkmarketstyle.com) and nationally recognized author of three décor books will continue on at Otten Bros. Look for inspired vignettes throughout the Otten Bros. show floor and greenhouse featuring the innovative JUNKMARKET approach to design. Future Aspirations
Other major events are in the works. A trunk show featuring local jewelers and artisans is scheduled or January 29, 2011. Plans for the first of its kind, Flea Market Under Glass, a true blue flea market are well under way. Imagine a Minnesota vintage shopping experience in March, 2011! The Otten Bros. fully heated 15,000 square foot greenhouse is slated to be the venue for this “March Madness” event. A “Made in the Midwest” event to be held in September, 2011 is also in the offing. The planning for this event is taking a turn towards life in the slow lane. The amalgamation of familiar flea market vendors, local Midwest food and product producers, along with community wine makers is our objective. An event to nourish all senses should be the end result.
